In many cases, a career in advertising does not require this particular major, however, similar to this case going into business does not require a degree in business. With the purpose of creating a diverse pool of talent, a career in advertising has multiple draws from a variety of fields like psychology majors or marketing majors or English literature majors. Known to be a powerful asset, a diversity of skills is required as well here.
One of the first things you need to know before starting a career in advertising is to know what you really want to do. Also, it is important to be aware that even if the pay is initially far from stupendous, the requirements will be for long working hours on extremely difficult projects. Perseverance will earn you serious amounts of money, but still, there are some that find out that a career in advertising is not for them. It is important to remember that careers in advertising do not require only imagination. For example, just because they tend to think that they can use creativity gets them a good pay, creative people find out eventually that the experience they have is very stifling to their imagination being focused only on how to make profit. If meant for you, a career in advertising can be very rewarding, but also it is recommended to be taken lightly. |
